A Better Way to Build

Factory

At Colorado Modular Homes we have truly found a better way to build. The process begins at the off-site construction facility. Our homes are built in a controlled environment. This allows us much greater control over your home’s construction compared to a site-built home. All of the materials we use are the same, or better, than what you will find in a traditional stick built home. In fact, modular homes are “stick built”. We frame the entire house using the same methods and materials as a site built home. However, because we build in a controlled environment we have the tools and systems to do it better. We can lay out our walls out on perfectly flat jigs, using not only screws to attach our drywall but also glue. There is no possibly that your house will see rain or snow on the floors at any time during its construction. We use spray foam insulation as a standard. Most of our houses leave the factory with Anderson or Pella windows packages. The factory process allows us efficiencies and controls that give us the right to say that we have developed a better way to build Watch a video on the factory process here.

Site Work

While your home is being built at the factory, we are hard at work preparing your building site for the home’s arrival. We will excavate and have the foundation and concrete flatwork completed prior to your home’s arrival. The foundation we install for your home is identical to the foundation for a traditional stick built home. The home itself and all site work are constructed to meet or exceed the IRC 2009 building code. This is the same building code that site built homes are built to and that local building departments enforce.

Delivery and Set

Once the site is ready and your home is completed at the factory, we deliver the home to the site via low-boy trailers specially designed for hauling our modular homes. Your home will arrive fairly complete with the cabinets and countertops installed, and most of the electrical and plumbing complete as well. Click here for pictures of a home that has just been delivered from the factory -- you can see the level of finish the home achieves before it leaves the factory. Once the home is delivered, our set crew sets the home on your foundation with a crane. By the end of the set day, your home is completely protected from the elements.

Finish and Move In

After we set your home we get to work finishing all the details. This part of the process is what really sets Colorado Modular Homes apart. We are often told that “your homes look different from other modular homes”, a compliment in which we take a lot of pride. Your home stands out because of attention to small details. This is why we take the time to build you a fancy beamed front entryway and install rock work on the exterior. We carefully select your outdoor lighting and add steel accents to the deck posts – little things that really set a home apart.
